Tesseract and Divide Bills

okay so today was a really good day for progress.

I got two thing that I've really always wanted to work to work! (that is a weird sentence..)

So now - you can assign bills to flatmates in the divide bills page and it remembers the point that you are at in doing the division. So if you leave the page and return it will remember who has which bills so far. I decided eventually to do this using a temp table that I store the devided bills int first and then only after the house manager clicks n the assign bills button - des it actually hapen.

Very nice. I've also made it so that it redirects to the email page after completing the division of all bills.

The other area that I go working today was another optical character recognition program. It's called "Tesseract" and it came originally from IBM and now Google is funding the development of it. So it's pretty good - it supports a lot of languages. It didn't translate my receipts perfectly. But I think that you need to train it. One thing that it DID do - was all the numbers - it got ALL of them correct - very nice. It even has English and German language support already. But I really like that you have the ability to training it - and train it on different fonts. I think that most receipts in the world - use a certain restricted set of fonts - so all I need to do - is handle these fonts nicely - and it will work for MOST people.
